Originally homesteaded in 1881, the Buckley Ranch was purchased in 1986 by the Colorado Division of Wildlife for public fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing. From Hartsel, take County Road 59 about five miles east to the old ranch headquarters. Several structures are near the road while others are a short walk toward the river (south). No fee is required to tour the property but valid Colorado licenses are required to fish and hunt on the property.
